In the fields of chemical synthesis, biopharmaceuticals, material analysis, and industrial production, many experiments or processes require precise low-temperature conditions to be completed. Recirculating chiller, as a device that provides constant temperature and constant current coolant, is widely used due to its good temperature stability and flexible external circulation function. But many users are concerned about: what specific equipment can be used with the recirculating chiller? We will discuss common supporting equipment and selection ideas to help you better utilize the function of low-temperature pumps.
Core supporting equipment for recirculating chiller
The rotary evaporator is the most classic partner for recirculating chiller. During the vacuum distillation process, the evaporated solvent vapor needs to be condensed and recovered. If normal temperature tap water is used, the condensation effect is average and water resources are wasted. By providing low-temperature coolant (usually 0℃ to -30℃) to the condenser tube through a circulation pump, the condensation efficiency can be greatly improved, especially suitable for the recovery of low boiling point solvents (such as ether and dichloromethane), and reducing the environmental pollution caused by solvent volatilization.

In exothermic reactions or chemical reactions that require low-temperature maintenance, a cooling medium needs to be introduced into the jacket or coil of the reaction vessel. The recirculating chiller can inject constant temperature coolant into the jacket of the reaction vessel, timely removing the heat of reaction and preventing overheating or side reactions. For synthesis reactions, crystallization processes, or small-scale production that require control within the range of -20 ℃ to room temperature, this configuration can provide a reliable temperature control solution.
The freeze dryer needs to pre cool the material before operation and maintain the cold trap at a lower temperature during the sublimation stage. The recirculating chiller can assist the freeze dryer in maintaining stable temperature in the cold trap, effectively capturing sublimated water vapor, shortening the drying cycle, and improving the freeze drying effect. It is more common in scenarios such as biological products, drug extraction, and food freeze-drying.
